THE SMART MONEY (Read time 0:25)
In the 33 years I was CEO of Music Connection we interviewed thousands of the most successful artists & entrepreneurs in the world. And the common denominator that always bubbled up to the top, was that most successful A&E's are in it because they don’t have a choice, they have to do it, it’s about the “mission” not the money. Given today’s challenging economy, now is the perfect time to make intelligent choices regarding your spending, reduce your debt, and put your attention on making your impossible "mission" a reality. Screw what you don’t have and instead focus on what outrageous, fantastic, irresistible art, products and services you can produce that will benefit and contribute to everybody, instead of just making you rich! Do that and your customers and fans will be banging down the door clamoring for more!

Thank you Michaeal! And I find, less is more, but giving increases one's quality of life. If Gov. would take all the waste food that grocery stores dump to keep their quota's and gave it as money...in the form of food, we would not waste and others would benefit...food is love. Have a wonderful day! Rachel

I do like your ideas Michael. Having done exactly what you suggest for the last forty or more years, has brought me an amzing amount of satisfaction in my life. I don't know if the fans have been exactly banging the door down,,, yet anyway, and a little financial compensation for all my years of hard work would not go amiss. But I would not change a thing, nor swap my personal integrity for all the chai in Starbucks.

Always love your passionate focus on the donut, not the hole. There is no art, product or service that is better received, than one that is passionately rendered. :) The Eggman

Excellent Advice!
Being one obsessed with a vision, I've done what you've described. Feels wonderful as long as I don't listen to anyone who thinks I'm nuts - which I obviously am - and am not! Life is such a paradox. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and support. It's great!

Thank you for that inspiration! I'm in the midst of a huge transition...choosing to depart from something that is ONLY about the money into something that is all about my PASSION. I Did music passiontely in the past. Got Signed to Mercury/Universal and had Great times...and now I'm diving into my first love, Art! And at my First showing I sold 2 pieces! What you said is so true... Thank you so much for the most important of reminders. Btw, if you wanna see a couple of the pieces that sold. Check out: www.facebook.com/artworkbykaleo

There's Smart, and there's Money
I love the reminder, and I keep the reminder right in front of my face so I can't forget it. I am a single mother of two great kids, so there have been times I had to get "regular" work to feed all of us, but I keep my focus on my art, and identify myself as an artist, no matter what. Identity is the key to my artistic success.

YES!
Another great reminder that it's about the process not the result. I'm in show business for the long haul. Of course i want to (stay) rich, but it's more important for me, for my own peace of mind to keep producing my work, my art than anything else. Thanks again for this simple reminder.
