KNOWING (Read time 0:33)
I was 29 when I started Music Connection magazine. 0-money, 0-experience. I couldn’t PROVE to anybody that MC was going to work. But I could KNOW it. I was holding it in my hands and reading it in my mind before I ever committed to actually doing it. Just like a songwriter hears the music in her head before she ever writes it down. Just like the Wright brothers couldn’t PROVE that their cockamamie idea of flying machines would work. But they could KNOW it. You may not be able to PROVE to investors, producers, agents, managers, staff or even friends and family that your crazy, genius idea will work. But you can KNOW it. And the manner in which you articulate that KNOWING may be the only convincing “pitch” that sells it.
What is it that you KNOW but you can't prove?

Reviving Ancient Healing and Transformational Music
20+ years ago I left LA to live true to my heart. I KNEW my heart would lead me to where I was meant to be. After 3+ years living in France my heart brought me to Israel, the last place on earth I thought I would live, dedicating my life to revive an ancient use of voice and rhythm as a natural healer. Today, Voices of Eden music has been medically proven to lower blood pressure, heart rate, increase focus and quality of sleep. There are 5 cds two books with Miriam's Secret - Discovering Your Inner Well of Wisdom about to launch in Sept 2012. Connecting to the Source of silence, the root of all music, connects us to true harmony. Music is important! Voice is our instrument. Each one makes a difference!

Amen, I Concur Too Know
I am living proof of your statement with out any physical evidence to prove what I know will work. What I always get from those I've reached out to is "great idea, not the direction we are heading in now, but keep in touch" or "Yes you have a great idea and it sounds like it will work we will be in touch" then 6 months or so go by and each of them have "their" version of what I "knew" would work. Can I get mad? yes do I get mad? NO it just proves to me my idea will work I knew it would work and them "borrowing" my idea and making modifications to it is just my own pat on the back. I know it will work I am not going to give up on my idea and I am patient enough to wait my turn in this line to the counter of success.

I agree with the previous comments. KNOWING is so much more powerful, so deeper than positive thinking. Thinking resides in the mind. Knowing abides in the heart, in the spirit. Knowing is like love--you can't really prove it, but you KNOW it's there!!! Thanks, Michael.

Hi, Loved reading this! Thank you Michael! In an ocean of Songwriters where everyone has their own home studios...it's tough to stand out! My first song was written in memory of my nephew Austin who lost his batle with cancer @ 21 months. I've always known that I'm on this journey in his memory. His song, "When You Look at Me" won best original song in 2011 on bestoriginalsong.com. after 5 months of competing! I knew it would win and I felt it. I've also written a short musical to help kids with bullying called "Can't Bully Me Now"! I'm trademarking a character for it too. I see that character in production in my mind, helping kids cope in traumatic situations. I know I will always press on! Thanks again! Lisa
Response from Michael: I certainly respect and admire the "mission" you've chosen Lisa!

It will happen
Thanks for this -- it is so very true. I have experienced the same thing. One of my goals has been to become a published writer, and after many years of KNOWING it would happen, it did. Plain and simple, I just KNEW it, even though I didn't know WHEN it would happen. But that didn't matter, because I KNEW it would, despite what anyone else had said. It seems that many of the people who have made the most impact in their field are the ones that KNEW they would, despite the fact that no one believed them -- at first. Keep KNOWING, and eventually someone WILL hear you and believe in you.

Michael - I know my crazy ideas will work even if no one else does - thanks for reminding me - and I will keep moving towards bringing them, one at a time to fruition, but for some reason I keep looking to others for "feel goods" and not getting them, depression sets in. I'm sure it is only short term but I ask myself - is it worth it. Thanks for being there as a guide friend!
Response from Michael: I think we can take a lesson from painters: they splat all their feelings and emotions on to the canvas with a brush full of sticky wet paint, then stand back and observe the reactions of others. The Confident can do that with detachment. The Unsure need constant reassuring.

Totally true.An idea is only balmy until it makes money, then it's "colorful" or called Genius. When you go from Thinking to Knowing you've got it fully realized. Nothing will hold you back.

http://www.IndieGoGo.com/TheMan seems like an impossible dream. But, charging windmills seems a bit daunting for some. But, charging windmills is what I KNOW to be right. Maybe the world will see my vision from satellites and airplanes. One can hope. But, I KNOW.....

Hi Michael! It's like the brain files and solves problems without your efforts, just ticks away at solutions and then your body knows when to move. It knows.

This is what I call taking positive thinking to the next level. Thanks for always being on time Michael!

Knowing...
My experience- with myself and others- is the difficulty in turning "knowing" into reality. I understand the value in inner drive and self-confidence but without the ability to make it happen in the real world it's a moot point. People are always "talking" but I'm watching the ones that are "doing".
Response from Michael: I think that “knowing” IS reality, unexpressed.

Proving it
I KNOW the talent I have to manage artists. I KNOW the work that needs to be done. I KNOW how to do it. However the fact that I have little experience makes it hard to prove to others that I can do it.

NOT positive thinking
I've made a decent living in the music business for nearly 20 years. When I hear something that I KNOW is a hit, a lot of times it's just my confident energy that pushes that music to the next level. But I've also learned that KNOWING and "positive thinking" are two different things. KNOWING has more positive energy than contrived "positive thinking." Thanks for the great blogs Michael
