WHAT IF NOTHING CHANGES? (Read time 0:21)
What if the circumstances that are preventing you from achieving your impossible dream (or maintaining it) remain the same for the remainder of this year? Would you be ok with that? What if the situations you’ve been putting up with continue? What if you finally realize that the things you’re doing aren’t enough? In other words, what if NOTHING changes? Whether you’re an artist or an entrepreneur, in order to keep your enterprise moving forward with momentum and velocity, you may have to tie Mr. Procrastination to a tree, lock Ms. Distraction in the closet, tell the Fear & Doubt brothers they’ll have to go, and ask your best friend Confidence to help you stay focused on what really matters. But before you do all that you may want to ask your Self, what really matters?
Regarding your crazy, creative career, what really matters to you?

what really matters!
What really matters to me is helping musicians. i write press kit material for them and show them how to work with other bands. If I keep on failing so what. I'll just keep going. It's what I've done so far. I'm not rich or anything, but I'm doing something that matters. Not just to me but to musicians as well.

Television and Internet
My biggest distractions are television and Internet. This week I decided NOT to turn on the tv and watch until it's time for bed, and only limited internet. I have to work on my goals and plans during my tv time, and read books and articles that help my craft. Remarkable how much you get done when you leave the tv and Internet off. It's shocking!

Life's BS
My day gig is singing at Women's luncheons, nursing homes, private parties ect. I'm very, very thankful! In my heart I'm a writer. I don't suffer from procrationation but my work's getting harder and harder to come by. I need the work to demo my songs and pay rent. 'Just paid rent but got no food to eat,'went to a soup kitchen to eat for the first time, today. Boy, did I meet some characters.People who live off of the system. Shower, defecate, and eat wherever they can. As an artist, I don't wanna see this. Not when I think about my gift! This lack and BS could happen to anyone. I pray that I'm able to hold on until things swing in my favor again and I can get back to music and not worry 'bout rent and food.

It's never wasted...
WoW Michael, this is a multi-level question...:-) Really, we as creatives can move in several directions, could make better career moves..I love my band, there's love there...Sometimes it's timing in history,..why did Mattisse become so known...really much of the art he created is rather simple, but it was right on time in a world of the ugly his colors, ect expressed "The joy of paiinting the beauty of the Universe.." Giving our art, our expression is never wasted, maybe the circle we influence is small, maybe large...but is is still of value to those who do come by it somehow. I can go sing at the Salvation Army and play for the homeless, broken, poor...I can still do this. Have an awesome day Michael :-) Rachel

Re: The Process
I think what matters to me is to remember that it is not the end result, but enjoying the process. It is the journey not the destination. It matters to me that I am DOING exactly what I want to do and what I feel I was meant to do. That is my blessing. Not being stuck in a job I hate. And if my efforts don't always produce "results" - well, when they do, it is like fireworks! I love your advice to keep my best friend, Confidence next to me with a good cup of coffee. The rest of those guys can take a hike! (And I will remind then of that each time they come knocking...)

Changing...
Actually everything is constantly changing. Life mastery is continuing to cause change in the direction we want to move things. And always doing this in harmony with the greatest good of the universe.

It's a team effort
Fulfilling purpose really matters most. As you say, this applies to all artists & entrepreneurs. If the enterprise is to be a grand thing, then it involves a lot of people. All those people need to step up. All those people need to be on the same page. Sure, the wave of the economy right now is DIY as corporations dodge liability and expense but where does that leave the true entrepreneurs? Do we hide with LLCs & pen names so that we can be free to point our fingers at each other & say, "You're procrastinating? You're letting fear & doubt rule? You're being distracted?" If one becomes transparent with another, these claims might be the result. So I believe in purpose andÖdoes my crazy compliment yours?

Changes...
Change! I feel like I spend all day questioning my approach. Since things really aren't poppin' the way I would like I wonder if the problem is my approach or the quality of my efforts. Someone that I've been acquainted with since high school plays in one of most legendary rock bands in the world. I messaged him the other day and asked him what he thought separated him from the rest of us that grew up playing and performing in the same clubs. His answer? "Luck". I would say that his Rockstar image helped a lot along with his people skills. He's also a great player but so are a lot of other folks the same age slugging it out in the clubs. The Secret?

what really matters
Whoaaaaa. Between the scary thought, What if nothing changes, AND What Really Matters.... is a Grand Canyon leap. On the one hand, if nothing changes, the locomotive is headed for a big mountain. On the other hand, What DOES really matter? Something has to change, but I must make sure what changes is WHAT REALLY MATTERS!!!!
