Practice
When we watch the Olympians, or the Michael Jacksons, or the Pavarottis of the world, we are seeing that moment where the thinking is over, and it is time play the game. What we don't see are the hours and hours and hours of practice, practice, practice that came before. In my industry I see a lot of people who are trying to play the game without having put in the practice time.

we are the champions my friend
Pretty hokey subject line, I know. Definitely, if you're a musician stick to one kind of music. Don't try and learn 10 million types of music and instruments. Learn the Sitar? No, only if you've got the time after playing money gigs and you're sitting pretty with a nice nest egg. Be a Hedgehog. They do one thing well and don't try to do a lot. Where as a Fox will try everything under the sun. That usually results in abysmal failure forever. No direction. So stick to one thing like Michael says.

Dive in!
I can picture Michael Phelps with his big toes curled around the edge of the pool, his arduous training, planning, dreaming behind him. I can hear the “Bang!” and see him dive in, 100% just doing it. And I can vision myself at the edge of my own creative “pool.” There’s no more postponing. It’s time to “dive in.” It’s a great vision of what a champion is....the result of that ruthless commitment and hard work. Sometimes I have spent too much time at the edge of the pool, afraid to “dive in.”

Champions
I always enjoy watching the Olympics, watching in awe the result of sacrifice, Never giving up, determination to put in the 10,000+ hours it takes to be a Champion. Thanks for the reminder that we all, can be champions.

Perfection isn’t an accident or a gift, is it? It’s the result of focused hard work and intention. AND diving in, without any more thinking. It’s time to Just DO it!
