WOW
Being in the fashion industry, I'm constantly challenged to produce products that are compelling to a wide cross section of the population. Having started a business with no formal fashion training - I see the need for an element of "wow" in every design. If it doesn't , it goes into the graveyard where it does not see the light of savvy store buyers eyes. So often,I am amused that we have hundreds upon hundreds of credit cards in our system that people have entrusted to us year after year to ship them merchandise that they have ordered. Give them what they want, and they will give you what you want. It is no easy task, but we keep on being "braver, smarter, stronger" as Dolan says.

Instant and lasting..
Hi Michael! You know, I am trying to do all of the above..trench walking..first I have to make a way to make a lasting creation. This all takes $ which I am working at making, so that I can make a lasting creation. Oh with all my heart, this is my purpose in all of the busyness that causes Art to pause. So good to read your blogs Michael!!:-)

I LOVE it! Steve always gave us what we wanted. In fact, most of the time we didn’t KNOW we wanted it. And he always made us hungry for the next thing. I’m with you....I don’t automatically run out and buy every Apple product when it comes out, but you can bet I stay up on each one. This is such an inspiration for my own “products,” that I would always ask what is wanted and needed next, anticipating that need, building a following and actively “listening” to the people that are looking for my product.

Must make a buck!
I am CEO/owner of a talent agency. I battle with the artists that work for me (and the artist inside of me) when I ask the question, “Will people pay money for This?” I am going to forward this particular blog to ALL of my employees because you have said this better than I ever could. Thanx, J Michael!

Art
I am an artist (literally)...a painter and multimedia artist. I never think of my art as an “end product,” but my agent thinks of it that way, because he markets it. And this is how I make my living. But I must say I do give 100% to my art, “whatever I’ve got.” My agent makes me aware of what sells and what doesn’t, but I can’t say that alters what I “produce.”
