DON’T FLINCH! (0:19)

Flinching as we speak
Guilty as described. There was once a time when I have not flinched but the more you have at stake, the more, it seems, that flinching is a reflex. I've signed on a personal coach at great expense to get me on track. If Mohammed does not go to the mountain... I'm not waiting for time to prove me not worthy of living a purposeful life. Just taking steps to do whatever it takes. Trying to live a life unflinched :) Thank you for touching our lives, Michael.

Ready fire aim
Flinching happens when you don't have a plan. I have been admonished for hesitating before making a decision. I have been told that hesitation kills. That might be true in a life or death situation and you have no other choice. Others say nothing ventured, nothing gained, and I believe that. I know the risk/reward ratio is a necessary evil. The solution is to plan, practice, prepare, then perform. In other words, get ready, aim, then fire. Don't flinch when you pull the trigger. Don't pull the trigger if you are not sure you are aiming at the right target. Take time to aim well. There is an important difference between hesitation and flinching. Thanks for making me think.

I think every intelligent artist/entrepeneur flinches at times. The important thing is to "Press On" as the British say...or continue to go "Straight Ahead" as the great Chuck Niles would always say. Your words of wisdom are ALWAYS making me PRESS ON...STRAIGHT AHEAD!

Flinch or stay on the pot...
In recent years my creative life has been defined by indecision, internal conflict, doubt and the *flinch*. My "voice" is not mainstream or well-established, my skills are unique and aspire to legendary status and I have the ability and desire to be prolific while still focusing on crafting quality work. However, being the square peg in the world of round holes can be not only challenging but scary. What if it doesn't work? What if nobody cares? If I do this "normal" thing I can at least work a little. "Fitting in" seems a lot safer but is but a means to an end. I am in the midst of producing my next single and planning a video shoot to coincide and I feel the "flinch" nagging at me. I'm trying to ignore it...

The Flinch
Beautiful Sir... With all the new creative avenues and various forms of product distribution, I am of hope the "we creatives" continue to explore new opportunities. That we face the risk head-on by trusting in all that has come before, come what may... We must let go of the flinch of others... agents, producers, network executives, friends and family. Many times the flinch comes from the voice of others, bouncing within our creative, causing havoc that we choose to hold onto. There are various forms of self limitation, doubt, wrapped in pretty little bottles of alcohol, drugs and fear... let it all go and just be! A force higher than you know has already found you worthy of being here.. don't let yourself down.

I couldn't have said it better Michael. T0 play it safe and "preserve mediocrity" is something I see religiously in the music industry at this time in our lives. There needs to be more focus on quality and craftsmanship, however musicians are rushing to the finish line before they even tie their shoes; afraid to leave their comfort zone and see the bigger picture.

This oneís an eye opener! If I look back and tell the truth, I have probably flinched more in my life than I have committed.

Greatness flinches
How many great artists never signed the contract? How many songs were never released, how many movies were never made or projects never got off the ground because someone flinched!

Great wisdom! Yes, I have flinched at big risk, putting everything on the line for an idea. Yet I admire those who donít flinch, or maybe they do flinch, but they go forward anyway!
