I guess we think it’s going to end some day. The struggle. That if we struggle today, we won’t have to struggle tomorrow.

What I love is when I create in many different ways something will come back to me as an interesting proposal. It is stimulating for my creative mind. Thanks Michael! Rachel

| $$truggle, not struggle |
The work's rarely the struggle for me; as a music journalist, I love plunging into a new story, doing the research, listening to new and old material, interviewing subjects with fascinating insights and anecdotes. Rather, the struggle is, How do I make enough money doing the work I love, at the intensity it demands, to pay my bills each month?

I think in general artists identify themselves a lot with the Victim arquetype. 'Look at me, world, how I work so hard to give you my God given talents. Do you care??'Well, no, the world doesn't care. And I think neither does God. It's up to me to release or not that new record, book, video, launch a new project. How I go about doing it, how I treat my relationships and betray or not my soul, that's Divine's business.

This is the “day job” we signed up for, right? The one that gives us independence. The one that fulfills our dharma. The one that’s headed directly toward our big dream. The one that’s taking us for the ride of a lifetime! I feel so fortunate to be working so hard at something I love so much. Thank you Michael.

| No Struggle! |
You GO, Michael! I mean, does a doctor in training say she’s a “struggling doctor?” Does the newly elected President say she’s a “struggling president?” Does a new CEO say she’s a “struggling CEO?” No way. Yet by labeling ourselves as “struggling,” we somehow demean ourselves, and yes, take on “struggling” as some kind of crown. Newsflash: It’s not! We are artists, songwriters, entrepreneurs from the get-go. THAT’s our identity and I am deleting “struggle” from my vocab.

I like your point that there is always something new we’re creating, with “new” projects on the sidelines, waiting to be chosen. “Pick me, Pick me,” they all cry. Yikes. That’s what we love about what we all do,right?
