Too outstanding to be denied.

"Criticism is easy to avoid. All you have to do is do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing" I like that quote. Have a super weekend :-) Rachel

Silence is worse than criticism
When people make critical comments about my work or my student's work, I appreciate it because I know they are paying attention. The hardest thing to learn was that they care enough to tell me, and they believe they are helping. These critiques are really a type of compliment. Silence is worse than criticism.

The way to push the envelope is to dance on the skinny branches of life-otherwise we live a mediocre white bread life of safe predictability - which is not to say it's bad but there's so much to be had if we jump into the arena, perchance get bloodied while hoping for the best. It is hardly rejection, it's just someone saying 'no'. If we put too much meaning into a simple 'no' we could stay home and waddle up crying. Better to keep trying - 10,000 hours - if you have not put that in, don't call uncle yet. :) Thanks for the work you give us Mr. Dolan !

Ignored
Yep, good stuff in this little blogÖthe hard part about these times trying to gain respect and attention in entertainment is our culture's short attention span! Some expert mentioned that in today's market you have about 8 seconds to "sell" anyone on your concept. So in one quick bull ride during a rodeo you have that little fragment of time to grab people's interest. I totally believe this as when I watch anyones video clip posted online (youtube, Facebook) I usually only watch maybe 30 seconds to get the basic point, when I upload and post my helmet cam sporting/drumming/comedy adventures I imagine that most people aren't going to see the best part of the clip that comes like 47 seconds into the video, oh well :(

'' Be so good that they can't ignore you?' How's about (instead of this) thinking about the dictatoship you live in? Merry Christmas

Rejection #3
Just got my third rejection letter for my first novel. I love the comments they made about my work. I'm disappointed that there is no offer...YET!

Don't reject me!
Iím an actor. Talent buyers often reject my work but they rarely reject me. They always ask me back and they always say great things about my talent as Iím walking out the door. Makes the rejection a lot easier to deal with.
