It’s a hard pill to swallow–especially after giving it long hours of hard work. Whether it’s a new product, service, book, record, movie or speech. However, it may not be about you or your work. Could be the wrong timing, or collaboration, or your customers just didn’t like your product or presentation. If it actually was your best effort, perhaps it’s time to look at the part that didn’t work and improve it–then keep moving forward. Nevertheless, what you’re left with after your best effort fails is choice & opportunity. The choice to get sad, or mad, or blame it all on others (or not). And the opportunity to find the gold in the midst of the dross—it’s there, hiding somewhere between the letdown and the frustration.
